DESCRIPTION

The MT2580 are intelligent Li-ion linear chargers

featuring optimized smart power control to make the

best use of limited USB or AC adapter power. The input

current shares between the system and battery charging and automatically reduces the charging current if the system load increases. The battery automatically supplements the system load current requirement when the USB or AC adapter cannot deliver the peak system load current. The MT2580 continuously monitors the input voltage for operation from current-limited USB ports or AC Adapter. If VIN falls to VINLOW (4.5V), the input maximum current limit is reduced to prevent the input voltage from falling further. The adaptive input current limit setting allows MT2580 to work with any USB ports and AC Adapters. The various versions of the MT2580 allow for design flexibility to choose system regulation voltage and battery regulation voltage.
